This next update is likely a bit trivial to most but I still think it may be of some help to anyone who battles OCD

During one of the concours last year the judge handling the storage areas of my car pointed out the gas tank cover sticker and that combined with some polishing dust (from the recent paintwork I had done for rust repair) I got dinged nearly .5 a point. I recall that my Targa also had the same issue but I never got around to replacing it.

Addressing the dust was easy enough but the sticker proved to be a bigger challenge since there weren’t any replacements available through Porsche, Pelican or other US suppliers. I started searching some of the overseas aftermarket suppliers that were reproducing stickers and found it at CarBone in Poland.

Replacement was straightforward, I removed the old sticker which crumbled as I removed it and I removed any residual adhesive. I then polished the area and wiped it down with isopropyl to remove any residue. I used blue painters tape for alignment of the new sticker which was easy enough to apply. Some pics…..
