I do think new Mazdas are probably some of the better cars on the market if you’re looking for general transportation. I rent a lot of various cars for work travel, and I tend to avoid giant SUVs and such. New CX30 rental was a nice car and comfortable for the 5 hour destination.
And I am an old fan of the early Miata’s. Have had one or 3 always hanging around since November 1990 when my base model, white one arrived at the dealership after a few months wait. Steel wheels, plain Jane for $13,900... with dealer installed AC.
The BRG is a keeper, and has been in the fleet for 17 yrs or so. Seldom driven these days but always starts and ready to go anywhere at anytime. Don’t think many new cars will be as accommodating when they’re 33+ yrs old.
