So Baratza’ customer service is awesome.
I sent a video of the grinder making halloween noises. They confirmed the gearbox failed. They offered to send a replacement motor/gearbox assembly free of charge! Its a $69 part on the Baratza website.
Needless to say, I was very pleased with the offer and look forward to the repair.
