H-E-B founder, Florence Butt, behind the counter of her first store in Kerrville in the early 1900s. The original name of store was the C.C. Butt Grocery Store and was founded in 1905. Florence handed management of the Kerrville store to her youngest son, Howard Edward Butt, in 1919. By 1930, Howard had expanded the company to 17 locations across South Texas and renamed it the H.E. Butt Grocery Store.








24 Hours of Daytona in 1978, the third victory for the Brumos team, this time with the number 99. In an interesting coincidence of numbers, the team’s #59 car came in 59 laps after the winner.
