Also, thanks for the clarification on your phone model -- I believe the iPhone 11 Pro still uses a USB>Lightning cable to charge, while my iPhone 15pro has a USB-c interface. Suspect apple's change (upgrade?) to USB-c is the source of my charging issue, have had a surprising number of backwards compatibility issues (specifically going from USB-a to USB-c connectors) come up for me as our transfer to USB-c continues.

Did want to ask about this. I have the iPhone 16 Pro and what you are saying is the HU may not charge the phone but you can still get music to play directly connected to with the USB correct? I will be using the rear usb connection and very rarely have my screen on.
Part of the reason I had to ditch the older HU's I had is they were still working with lightning connections but not with the Iphone 16 usb-c. Tried several adapters, to no avail...
As long as I have music I am happy, plus sounds like the blue tooth works well...so there is that.
