Glen,
They didn't give you headphones and music? Every time I've had an MRI they give me headphones and ask me what kind of music I want. I usually fall asleep in the machine, but I fall asleep easily (during the day).

Thanks Mike. I may not get another one, at least any time soon. I went back to the surgeon because the same symptoms I had on my left side were beginning to appear on my right side. I wanted to get ahead of it this time instead of going through two years of pain meds, etc. The same day I saw the surgeon the symptoms went away! I had the MRI scheduled, so I went ahead with it. But now I'm feeling better and I'm sick and tired of doctors. I'm going to put off doing anything until/unless the leg pain and loss of control come back.
