Is this based on the VIN, or at least the standardized 17 digit VIN? as in this chart appears to correlate with the 10th position of the VIN, regardless of model type.
So you could have a "G-series" 911, 924, 928 or 944.
I think the G-Model is different than the G-Series, and does seem to be recognized by Porsche or at least they reference it on their website, with a
link to the breakdown on the G-Model HERE.
