I first saw this when I worked at Moto Liberty in Dallas (before it was just an accessory store today). They had their little shop in Dallas but a bigger shop in Osaka, Japan and mechanics would occasionally come to Texas. I watched two Japanese mechanics working on a bike in a squat position. Very strange and uncomfortable looking.

I've never been much into doing squats for exercise but recently I've added body weight only squats to my routine.
