You may be getting sick of my projects but I'm showing them anyway

This weekend I started two new fence projects. The first one is a short 10' fence between me and my neighbor's houses across the front. The second fence is started and is between my neighbors house.
When I got to the last post, I encountered a massive root growing around the old cement post holder. This chunk of cement had to come out as this post is the corner of my side fence and my back fence and is a critical post that cannot be re-located.
I was concerned about removing this very large root but my neighbor informed me that it was related to a tree that was removed a few years ago so it would not affect any living plants.
