When I moved here in '78, we had 150k population and now it' over 500k - that's a lot of buildings and paved roads. With all the paving, we don't get the tule fog that we used to get.
110+ seems pretty hot. I remember during the summer of 1959, the temp was 105+ for about a week straight. It's something that stuck in my mind. We had a swamp cooler. I sat under the outlet vent some times. At that time I think the population was 97K. I agree the place has seemed to explode population wise. The few times I've been there in past decades, it seemed the part I knew was a small nucleus of what it is now. I graduated from Fresno H.S. about 65 years ago. The tule fog was scary. I got caught in it one time at night. I couldn't see two stripes of the center of the road ahead of the car, but I could look up and see the stars through the top of the windshield.
