Wasn't sure where to post this type of question so please excuse if I'm in the wrong forum.

I recently had the opportunity to purchase a 79 930 for mid $50's but seller only has a Lemon Squad report which admittedly looks good, but I really dont value that type of report as a PPI. He also sent me a video walk-around but neglected to start her up and let her idle. The location of the car is about an hour and a half from Dallas and I could easily drive up there in 1.5 hours but I really know very little about the 930 although I have rebuilt my Carrera 3.2 a couple times (2nd time to fix what I did wrong the first time!)

Bodywork looks extremely nice, interior has strange Recaro seats (almost movie cinema type) and steering wheel is mid 80's. The VIN he gave me is 10 digit 9309801088 which seems valid but I'm not really sure what these 10 digit VINs tell you TBH. The claimed mileage is < 10K but that seems very suspect to me. The Lemon squad mentioned possible respray.

Geez, I'm struggling with what to do. Seems like almost to good to be true and I cant get the guy to let me take to get a PPI as it's 100+ miles from closest reputable place like Mayo or Zims. Should I go and take my lead-down and compression tester and check it myself in-situ or just dream-on ?

Any thoughts? Anyone have any prior knowledge of this specific turbo. BTW, it's Guards Red and Black interior
