^^^ In helo school in the Navy, we shoot a lot, at least we used to, full autos to a spot. Even with a functioning engine, a small jet in the Bell, there is a point were the aircraft is committed to the power-off landing.
I had a really great instructor, Major Cipriani, a USMC Cobra pilot.
He had a mantra for the end of every auto: On the flare, you pull, you pause and you Cipriani, meaning relax, Cipriani, level the nose and use the rest of your main rotor turns to land.
I can still hear him.
