It’s just a car, that’s what insurance is for. Call the police and then your insurance agent.
As much as we want to dish out our own justice, not only can it get you in more legal trouble than you want, you never know how crazy the perp might be and if they have a weapon.
There was an incident here in MN where a guy tried to stop a scumbag who was stealing his catalytic converter and the perp shot him.
