Before we retired, one of my wife's patients was a championship level AMA professional Super Cross rider. She started seeing him when he was a young adolescent, and saw him until he was about 30 years old, after his pro career had come to an end. He had actually won the national championship at about 18, 19, 20, or somewhere around there, and remained competitive for several more years.
By the time he was 30 he couldn't brush his own teeth, comb his own hair, or pretty much even wipe himself. So many broken bones and dislocated joints, many of them several times over. What a mess. He must be darn near 40 by now. I wonder how he's doing. I wonder if he still thinks it was worth it.

Yowza!
I've heard that there are UFC fighters that are young that have all sorts of issues due to getting hit in the head.
