The horn button switches to ground (not power) If you take that wire coming from the column (confirm it’s not some random wire- it’s brown I believe) and touch it to the wheel while wheel is on column = honk. Therefore, if you try to work on horn connection while horn relay is plugged in it could be noisy. I did that once and my wife thought I was in distress and signaling for help.
I have the same set up but can’t tell from pics what’s going on.
Outcomes are limited: nothing happens, horn always on, works as planned. Just remember to plug relay back in for testing.
