I live in a very rural area and there is no neighborhood watch for lawn upkeep around here....but I still enjoy creating a nice looking lawn. I have open unkept fields on the south and west side of my property....as far as one can see. This leads to a lot of wind carried seeds in my one acre yard.
When I bought the place it should have been called 'dandelion acres'...it was that bad. I purchased a pull behind electric yard sprayer and within 3 years I had the problem gone.

Now I keep a one gal Bauer weed sprayer loaded and ready, and whenever I spot a dandelion or two it takes only a minute or so to snap a battery in to kill it. The lawn has really thickened up since. But the weeds are a never-ending problem with weed filled fields to the south and west.
