I was stationed in Bamberg and took my 1982 930 (and paid out of pocket to ship wife's car) with the intent to drive it on the 'Ring. I was able to drive the Ring just prior to returning to the States. They were late opening the track and then just prior to the end of my first lap (I paid for 2 laps) a car broke on the track and they closed the track. so I was never able to do a second lap.
