The Pirelli CN36 in 185/70R15 is the best tire for the job. A period correct design with modern sticky tire construction. The size is right for the car and optimized on a 6" wide wheel. They are available from your local Porsche dealership for less than others are selling them online. Tirerack may also be selling them now, which would be a recent development.

There are also Avon CR6ZZ tires but they're more of a race tire.

PS: I have a client with a 66 912 that has 6" Fuchs and 195/65 tires that rub on his struts. In 1968 Porsche added a 7mm spacer front and rear.
