I can recall at least two situations, and possibly more in Colorado where innocent citizens were shot dead by the police simply because they had a gun in their hand. One had actually killed an attempted mass shooter in Arvada, and the other simply opened his own homes door with a gun in his hand.
If the cops are anywhere around set the gun down and put your hands up.... Then let it sort out.
If she was male, she probably would be dead. And if black and male, even more likely.
