It is amazing what it costs to live in/near LA now. It probably seems normal if you live there. Great weather, but I can buy/sell a 4000-6000 sq ft. brick home with a 3-car garage on 10 acres for that with a cherry '89 911 in the garage included.

Yep. These are mostly single family homes, probably built in the 1960s in close proximity to downtown LA and the Hollywood music scene. The area is relatively safe but I personally don't think the juice is worth the squeeze. I have expected this RE bubble to burst for quite a while but with Floyd riots, crushing government lockdowns, failing schools, raging wildfires, and still prices climb.
The weather is nice though.
