My wife wanted to upgrade her phone (i7) when she got one of those upgrade offers from tee mobil.
Since I live under a rock and could really care less if I have a phone other than my land line, I went along with her on it. She was out of town last week so I thought I'd find out just how hard can it be, so went in by myself during the week. I had an i7 also, so figured it'd be a good 'learning' experience for me and might save her some time when she got home and upgraded hers.
3 hours later I was walking out with a new 16e.
My old phone wouldn't even upgrade the software to a high enough level where they could use their app on it to do the purchase. We bought our upgraded phones outright. I kept both old ones and see that they even work for texting even though they aren't 'phones' any more.
There've been a few teething problems with some of her apps, but at least she didn't have to wait 3 hours for hers. It only took about 45 minutes to switch hers over.
Now my biggest problem is I can't yet pair my phone to my car. I've paired both of them to hers though so she's happy.
Me? I really don't think pairing it to my car is very high on my priority list so I'm good with it as is.
Was it a pia to do?
Yes, and no.
My buddy back in KC MO is more than pleased I upgraded as he's been on my a$$ about getting a better phone for years now. He's a big Apple guy so is my personal help line for most things about it.
