When I went for my test drive, the oil pressure gauge was pegged at 90 PSI. Crap, that meant the connection to the oil pressure sender was not connected properly. Of course, it is next to the firewall, behind the cruise control vacuum module. I can just see the edge of it with my phone.

I tried everything to push it on further, and gave up. I had to remove the cruise control vacuum module, and replace the push on connector. New connector in place and all is well with the gauge. I can only assume the connector to the wire was bad after many years and getting bumped into with the plug wire replacement by that incompetent mechanic.

The screws on the back of the cruise module have almost no room to remove and replace them.

All done, and all systems are working. I did get the passenger side plugs and wires replaced with no more bleeding wounds on my arms.
