Single guy here, I like to keep my house fairly neat . However, I keep pretty busy with life, work and side projects . for the last month , clean laundry had taken over my living room, waiting to be folded. The dog and cat love it and sleep on it, so it needs laundered again . I finally blasted it out over the weekend, but it took most of my Saturday .
It always gets done , eventually , most times, I keep up on it weekly , but sometimes, it will just pile up for a few weeks or so .
They say death and taxes are the two things you cannot escape, but laundry and dishes are worth an honerable mention

I'm what you might call fastidious. Of your options given, I am #1. Sunday is laundry day. AS it comes out of the dryer, it gets folded or laid out to be hung. Once folded/laid out, it is carried upstairs and put away. EVERY WEEK. My kids (all but 1 now out of the house) also do their own laundry and have since they could reach the knobs.
In my previous marriage, I worked and wife did not. She did the household work (poorly) to include my laundry. Once she started shrinking my clothes or leaving random bleach stains on them, she was relieved of that duty.
