I decided to abandon the testing and repair of my clock for now. I think the stepper motor is indeed bad.

of all the parts ive been able to find for this clock, the motor isn't one. unless someone knows where I can find it, im just gonna chalk the clock up as a loss and leave the blanking plate in its place. not like I can see the clock with my Rennline magnetic cell phone holder anyways lol.
