If they were offered with more spindle lift than 19mm, they'd be at the top of my list of options.

Man, I don't want to spend $6-8k right now as much as I'd love a set of MCS on this car. (There's no way I wouldn't go remote reservoir 2-way shocks if I ordered new MCS.)

It turned out to be the rubber bushings sandwiched by the top of the shock rod where the shock attaches to the body. I replaced those with factory Porsche bushings and it's been good since. The bushings I took out (and I think those came with the shocks) were hard and compressed after only a few years of use. The shocks have given me no other issues.

I installed the (1980 date code) stock shocks to confirm the shocks as my problem. I then turned my focus to the Vons. The sphericals at the bottom are torched in less than 5 years' time. I've ordered replacements and they'll be here this week. If that doesn't do it, I'll try upper bushings...but the 45yo bushings on the stock Billys seem to work fine.
I'm hoping to fix this with minimal outlay of cash as I've fully reached the end of my patience with this car and I (and it) need it to just behave for a few months or I'll start shopping 993s and 718s in earnest.
