Golly having more fun. The ceiling fan in my office gets little use in winter, but once the house AC is turned on, I need the fan. I turned it on the other day and it was OK on low, but medium and high made horrible noise. Crap.
I investigated and the screws that hold the metal blade adapters were loose, to the point of one screw falling out while the fan was on low. I had to remove the fan from the ceiling, and pretty much take it apart. I am pretty sure the factory puts in the blade attachment brackets and then finishes everything else. It was hours of frustration and a lot of runs to the garage to get tools.
Over four hours later, it is all back together, and working fine. I would love to find the engineer that designed it, and kick him hard between his legs, twice! Pitiful engineering.
