Here is an example of one of the blades before and after balancing. It wasn't very far out of balance but you can see how it is dipping down on the left side in the first picture and is hanging pretty straight in the second picture. I installed these blades five years ago and used them right out of the box, no sharpening, no balancing. I have now learned that it is somewhat recommended to sharpen and check the balance of new blades. Depending on the manufacturer and quality of the blades, some can be pretty off-balance. The Gator Blades I use are very well-made and I have never balanced or sharpened them in the five years I have used them so, they were pretty well balanced from new. So, anyway. Happy Mowing!!!
