Wow!!!
I recently installed a new front wheel bearing on my Mother-in-law's 2006 Malibu. When I was removing the brake caliper, one of the brake pads fell apart!!! I had never seen brake pad material separate from the backing plate like that before and the brake pads still had a lot of material on them and didn't need replacing until that happened.
