One of my wife's co-workers lives in a rural area on 20 acres. They had a tree fall over on the property, and there was a crow's nest on the top of the tree, now on the ground. The baby crow was just starting to get feathers.
They took it inside, and cared and fed it until it was able to fly. They let it stay in their barn, but it was able to fly around outside. It had a real fascination with shiny objects. Many of the husband's sockets were found in the crow's nest in the barn. Soon it figured out several games they played with it.
And tools started showing up from other properties. If the wild crows saw it, they would beat it up, so it would retreat to the barn, and the protection of humans. It lived many years and pet semi wild bird.
