Funny thing is I don't even hate EVs, I've had 3 in succession, but I wish they would not mess with success on the boxster/cayman until the last possible minute, because it's looking like that timeframe will be a moving target. I understand lead time, go for it, prep for Ev, but why are you killing the ICE flavor ? The GTS is seling well (4.0 flat 6), read the room Porsche... People want a 6, preferably N/A. With all the parts bin they do, why can't they continue that ? Oh well..

In 2018 I rented an Audi for a week for a vacation. Its dash was all computer screen which was actually pretty cool, being able to adjust what you see on the fly.
gauges
or full Nav screen
or just about anything else that you could imagine.
I thought it was cool. I also thought, "holy crap, I wouldn't want to own this thing when that goes bad!" I feel like these cars are for the "own new for 3-5 years and then trade in" crowd which has never been me.
My '08 Boxster isn't too bad. I've got an aftermarket head unit. It does have PASM, although I think there are aftermarket solutions (or just going to non-active shocks). It's got the module under the seat that can get wet under certain circumstances. I've also seen some folks that had the little LCD screen at the bottom of the tach go wonky.
My wife's got a 2018 Outback. It's got eyesight which fails open so shouldn't be a problem if/when it fails. Her infotainment screen delaminated which was a huge pain, but aftermarket screen replacements eventually became available so that's fixed. It's got "eye liner" on the headlights (thin LEDs in a shape) that can't easily be replaced without replacing the entire housing. For a 2018, it's surprisingly not too bad as far as gizmos goes. The guages are just that, gauges.
