From things I know -
The redo of the leach fields is way more expensive than pump outs!!.
Treat your tank(s) as holding tanks and don't let the debris get downstream into the field.
I guess the man who showed up to pump your tank also owns a small excavator and a dump truck?
In my opinion, he is waiting for a larger sale, the up-sell?
That's my understanding of how it all works.
Saving money by not pumping out with some sort of theory of septic digestion is going to digest a lot more money downstream from that point in time.
Or try to understand it this way- if you pumped the tank regularly, you would never have a field failure .
Pick one.
