I definitely agree with that statement, BaT is definitely where the highest value is gonna be reached. Sorry about the no sale however, could be wrong time/no buyer that week, maybe it's a good thing for you long term... I sold 356s that I wish the sale had failed for, and I still had them ;-p (ugh that's not a greatly constructed sentence)

The old Porsche market is strange at the moment, it definitely calmed down but, as ever, not enough on the stuff I really want a crack at (like another 356). I see 912s selling for long hood 911 prices now, which is both cool as I love swb 912s but a little odd vs the "legend" 911. Looks like 100% original and 100% $modified$ cars still do well (think RSR clones, even SC based). Seems like cars with small mods like wrong engine puts other cars in a middling category at the moment...

In the case of an S, considering all 911s of a similar year have the same body/engine case and the only difference are some suspension/trim (all easily optioned or retrofittable) AND the S engine cams/tuning specificities, the value of an S is definitely in its matching number S engine IMO... if it were a T I think that engine/fuel injection would have mattered a lot less and that bid was T money... I am still seeing stock long hood S sell in the 150-200 bracket.. Is it worth looking for a correct engine ? dunno, maybe...
