^^^Bwaaahaha!

I’ve had my share of tickets and cop interactions…

The first one, I was 16 and driving our 74 super beetle. I was pretending a cop was chasing me, went around a corner, and there was a cop with radar! I really wasn’t going that fast.He gave me a warning. That was in our small town of Westport Connecticut, in 1976.

The second ticket, was in a school zone. I was going 38 in a 35. I got the ticket and paid the fine. This was in Dunwoody, Georgia in 1977.

The third ticket, there were seven or eight of us in two cars. My 74 super beetle and and my friends Chevy Vega. We were on high school spring break and had just left the beer store. An off duty cop, radioed his friends and three or four cop cars pulled us over. They said, “we were playing games on the highway”.🙄 We really didn’t know what we did. I got the ticket and paid the $50 fine. This was in St. Augustine, Florida in 1977.

The fourth ticket, I was driving my 930 from Charleston to Charlotte and got pulled over for doing 79 in a 70, in the middle of nowhere. It was 10 o’clock at night, and I was just cruising down the road by myself. Windows down and elbow out the window. Cop sitting in the median got me on radar. I found a local lawyer to the ticket area and he talked to the cop. No points and ticket was dismissed. Lawyer didn’t charge me anything. Nice guy! This was half way between Charleston and Columbia in 2000.

The fifth ticket, I was driving from one job site to another, and on the phone with an idiot contractor of mine. Wasn’t paying attention, and got popped for 43 in a 35. Got the ticket and paid the fine. This was in Cainhoy, SC in about 2006.

My sixth cop conversation, I was driving on I-400 from Cumming, Georgia to Dunwoody, Georgia, at about 6:30 in heavy traffic. I was on the phone with Ms. Rocket and told her there was a cop up ahead. Next thing I know, he’s pulling me over. I rolled all of my windows down, turned off the engine, radio, and put my hands on the steering wheel. I gave him my license and he said the reason he pulled me over, was because I was weaving. WTF? How was I weaving, in heavy traffic, within my lane? Then he asked me if I had been drinking. At that point, I gave up drinking 29 years earlier, so no officer. I think he pulled me over, because I was in a pick up truck with tinted windows. He let me go without any kind of ticket. I was a little miffed about being pulled over for no reason. This was in Alpharetta, Georgia in about 2018.

Another cop story. Ms Rocket, and I were coming home from the movies, it was just getting dark and I saw some tail lights in the woods. We made a U-turn up ahead, and when we did, I noticed a boat being trailered by a truck. When we got to the lights, we pulled over and it turned out to be a motorcycle in the woods. Then we noticed about 30 or 40 feet in front of our car, a body on the side of the road. Ms. Rocket is an ICU nurse. She rolled the guy over, checked for a pulse, etc. and did a few chest compressions. She said he was a bag of bones and dead. We call the cops, and several showed up. Next thing we know, the car towing the boat, passes by. I point it out to the cops and one goes after him. We told them everything we had seen and done, but one cop made a stupid comment that pissed me off, like we were the ones who did it. I almost told him to **** himself, but didn’t. As we were getting in our car, I noticed there was a wallet laying on the ground right in front of my door. It belonged to the motorcyclist. I gave it to the cops, and that was the end of our adventure that night.
