Recover Leather G model Console

I was looking for information on recovering my console. I couldn’t find anything on the subject.

It really isn’t a hard or involved project.

The console is two structural elements that are stapled together under the cover.

I have a Red French Seam that needed a little more attention than if it was recovered like the OEM.

I purchased the pre-sewn cover on ebay.

Materials:
Pre-sewn Cover
Similar to the one I bought

DAP Weldwood Landau Top Cement (I got a quart from an upholstery shop) You don’t need a gallon for this job. I decided to brush it on, rather than spray.

Tools:
Acid Brush
1” Paint Brush
Exacto Knife
Scissors
Staple Remover
Staple Gun

Peeling back the old material.

Revealing staples that hold the two structural together.

Glue the new material on the inside of the orange structure.

Install black trim structure into orange structure.

Staple to form an assembly.

Continue to glue the material down the sides.

Finally, glue and wrap the material under and inside.

All done
