First Porsche
Hello all, I picked up my first Porsche last Saturday in MD. 1983 911SC, 72K miles in great condition and all original. Previous owner had her for 12 years, very particular and really babied her. Test drive was great, started up cold no issue. Put car on the trailer an hour later started no issue. 8 hours back to NC, started up, took her out for a few miles and into the garage. Went to start the car this evening, started up but then died about 30 seconds in. When trying to restart she would try but almost seemed fuel starved. Gas gauge indicates 3/4 full, added gas anyway, same result. After waiting a bit tried again and she won’t even try to fire now. I plan to try a shot of ether tomorrow just to eliminate any serious ignition issue. It seems like a fuel issue to me, just hoping for some common known issues to check first.
Update, gave it a shot of carb cleaner today and it tried to fire so ignition doesn’t seem to be the issue. Plan on checking fuel pump fuse next then see if I have fuel at the injection pump.
