Sounds like it's best to go with a new wiring harness as Gerakroo can provide.

Suggestion: Keep the wiring from the distributor to the CDI and coil separate from the engine wiring harness--don't go through the 14 pin connector or tape them together. I'm glad I did that because it makes it easy to swap different ignition systems.
