I feel the pain Chris, I sold my last 911 with AC and my current (driving...) Carrera 3.2 doesn't have it either, really reduces the enjoyment of the car if you are always sitting in a pool of sweat when it's nice out. Many sunny days and e.g. trips to weddings we are not doing in it because of that, especially if my partner comes along because she doesn't want to put up with it.
I'm really looking forward to the new version of the Classic Retrofit electric AC to come out, when it's combined with heat. It's definitely expensive but the added enjoyment does still give good value for the money, unlike some other mods us gearheads tend to do...
