I had both eyes done last summer. I had switched eye doctors due to what I would call "lack of confidence" in my old ophthalmologist. I was really near sighted and my old doctor bragged I was his second most near sighted patent. I commented to my new eye doctor that I wish I had cataracts so I could get rid of the thick lenses and his comment was that I had them and could have surgery any time I wanted to have it done.
Scheduled surgery and he adjusted the vision so I am -4 on distance and I can see the smallest metal sliver stuck in my finger. I hate my bifocals, so I take my glasses off to read. Biggest problem was I couldn't see distance and had to learn how to wear soft contacts and use cheaters so I could drive and read before my eyes healed and I received my new glasses.
