fwiw, the video of the guy in Japan helped me figure out my own window issue - the clock spring was binding in my case.
I shot some WD40 in there (there is an access hole in the door funny enough) and then ran the window up and down a bunch of times. It’s faster now but still making some odd noises. I’ll remove it for some real TLC after the auto-x season is done. It probably needs a good soak in vinegar (or maybe just a cleaning?) and then some kind of oil to protect it and ensure it can move freely.

any recc on what to coat it with to protect it?
