What is wrong with this company? I started with them around 1990 and the customer service was incredible. Then about the time they opened it up to enlisted service members and anyone that had seen a USMC or Army sticker on the back of a pick-up truck for eligibility everything went to crap.
Now they advertise everywhere and even have paid spokes persons, Gronk and others. NO telling how much that has increased my premiums.
I needed to get a change to my auto policy yesterday (traded vehicles). Tried to do it online. Totally impossible w/o adding a new car and deleting the old one. Couldn't just replace w same coverage.
Next, I called and waded thru their automated answering which is horrible. Its sort of like DoD requirements for passwords on computers. Way too much stuff to answer and remember.
First person it placed me with was in billing and she had to transfer me. Next guy took the cake though. Ahmed was his name and he literally couldn't speak English. First question he asked me, I had no idea what he said. I asked him to transfer me to another agent and he refused. I asked him again and said please can you transfer me to a person that speaks English, still refused. I then asked for a supervisor, total refusal.
I've left them before but for only about a year and begrudgingly returned when Liberty Mutual doubled my premiums w/o notice.
Is there anywhere else to go??? Sorry if I posted this before, I checked but didn't find any threads. I'm just at a point where I give them money and try to ignore their suck.
I'll add: a few years ago, my daughter was in a pretty bad car wreck. USAA settled quickly with other driver. Then 2 effen years later he sued saying his hearing was somehow damaged when his gigantic truck hit my daughter's Mazda 3, t-bone. I learned that his coverage was with one of their umbrella divisions. They just settled the suit that was filed on the eve of the statute of limitations. Didn't even make him prove his BS claim.
