We have USAA for auto (and home) insurance coverage. Our recent auto claim with them was underwhelming. In the past, we had used AAA. Now I get why AAA is more expensive. The service was much better.
I knew we didn't have collision coverage on my car and wouldn't be covered for our loss by USAA, but I didn't figure USAA would do absolutely nothing to try to track down the other insurance company(s) involved. There was effectively no point in my reporting the accident to USAA. I've done all the legwork myself.
When we move later this month to another state, even if USAA is an option, we won't select it. (And definitely not renting a car from Hertz for the rest of my life, either.)
