Father & Son backpacking trip to Shi Shi beach out on the NW Pacific coast.
Not our usual up hill BP trip deep into the Cascades, more dirt road with plenty of giant mud filled pot holes, some big enough to consider boating across.
Once you near the ocean you have a steep couple 3 switchbacks to get down to the beach. After that you can walk a few miles along a pristine section of sandy beach and either pick a spot on the sand well above high tide to set up a tent or there are a few places where you can enter the forest and camp.
The big draw is Point of the Arches at sunset/sunrise although it's very common for fog to set in overnight obscuring sunrise to some degree.
First time I've been out walking the beach after sunset and watched a couple Sea Otters scurry up into the drift wood for the night.
I've seen them out in kelp beds, and in the water in several places, this was a treat... So was sunset, moon rise, sunrise and getting to spend a couple nights out away from the hubbub of normal life with my Son.
