996TT-Engine Rattle with A/C on - Normal?
I purchased my 2002 996TT 2-1/2 years ago. It had an engine rattle that I was concerned about initially, but after some forum searches, found that it seems to be a common issue with the Mezger engines. The rattle gets louder during the following conditions:
1) Car driven for awhile (fully warmed up)
2) A/C on
3) Car in neutral (6 spd manual)
4) Clutch pedal out
With the A/C on, when I push the clutch pedal in, the rattle gets much quieter, possibly goes back to "normal". And when I turn off the A/C the rattle definitely goes back to "normal". I typically don't use the A/C, but used it for the 1st time a few days ago and so it's on my mind again.
Just wanted to check to see if others have this issue and what, if anything, they have done to address it?
