Yup, that's what mine looks like except the short end section is still stuck in the rear wheel bearing...
Fortunately, the flange end with the wheel studs has some splines left in it so I was able to get the axle nut off - although it was still a battle... : ) : )
If I can find good replacements, I will definitely replace both sides... Those old stock parts are getting up there in years and hours - especially those used on race cars. I'm glad to hear that it's not a super common failure point although if it was, I suppose there'd be more aftermarket alternatives.
