Back when I was still in high school, the local newspaper asked me to photograph the high school game of the school I attended. They asked for facial expressions of the quarterback, with a ball in hand about to throw. My boss at my first job set me up with a 500CM, pentaprism slightly different to that one, and 500 MM lens all with a pistol grip. I had to raise that 100 pounds, (OK, not 100 but damn heavy) to me eye to fire off rounds. Oh, and I did not get the light little 12 exposure film back, I had the 70mm long roll attachment. I got a photo that was run on the front off the sports page, and my arm ached for a week after. Tri-X film, push processed to 1,600. It came out great. I wish I kept a copy of that photo.
