An add to my previous post. On the positive side, was great racing. I agree with Langheck, HAM drove great particularly after he went to slicks. Timing had him more than 10 sec faster than the others for about 5 laps.
TV does not show how steep the hill is coming down from le Source and certainly does not show the steepness from Eau Rouge to Radillon. Incredibly steep. When they are after it, the compression at Eau Rouge drives tire smoke. We did get a tour of the track on the back of one of those flat beds. The elevation changes are not evident on TV.
And I had no idea i was getting into mountain climbing. From the parking above le Source to Eau Rouge must be 100meters vertical. I could be exaggerating but as an old guy the climb was slow. As an aside rode with a driver to the Aachen train station who had driving PIastris mom.
On to Budapest. Let’s hope logistics are better.
