Let’s just say it I felt like the car has been fighting me at every turn. Long story short, I had a really hard time getting it started and after a lot of trouble shooting, including smoke testing, pressure testing, confirming good spark, etc, got it to fire up but something was still off. After lots of reading threads and consulting with Tony who rebuilt my WUR and FD, I figured out I had a fuel flow issue. So drained the gas and low and behold, there was crud in the bottom of the swirl pot and under the tank screeen lip where the feed line exits. I had already looked inside the tank months ago when I replaced the sending unit and it looked clean but never thought about the swirl pot holding debris. After blowing carb cleaner through the return and feed line and cleaning that area out, put it back together and now it’s starting and running. I still need to dial it in a little better and am installing an AEM wideband AFR gauge to monitor my fuel mixture. I also need figure out what is causing my accelerator pedal not to fully return. It’s like it is binding somewhere and doesn’t come all the way back up but if I tap it to “blip” the gas, it releases. After all of that I’ll be on the road for some engine break in!
