Texas requires its citizens to make an appointment online to visit their venerated DMV establishments. To replace a lost license, you need a rather long code from the license you don't have, plus a fee to set up an appointment.

Then bring various forms of proof of life, residency, etc... to get a temp license. The actual license gets mailed.

Hard to believe there's something worse than sitting in the DMV office.

If you're a TX resident, make a copy of your license and keep it in a safe place. Better yet, don't lose it.
