The Hyundai/Kia engine issue is well documented. Several years ago, when my son's Veloster (NA not turbo) crapped out, the dealer took me behind the service shop and showed me the engine pile. My son's Veloster was going on engine number 3 in less than 50K before I turned that car into a Toyota Highlander as a fix for the problem.
