77º. 68 during winter days and 65 at night. I can't explain why I'm happy with 77 inside in the summer and yet really don't like it outside over 85 even though I spend 90% of my time outside unless it breaks 95º.
In the winter I can be wearing shorts at 65 or more. The older I get the more I am affected by extremes. Never having lived where it gets seriously cold, I'm not sure how I'd do below 50 for most of the day/week/month. I can say high humidity is horrible. I'm really uncomfortable over 70%.
We are definitely spoiled in SoCal. I lived in AL for one year and the whole time the weather was on my mind so much that it dictated everything I did. I don't even think about weather here unless it's raining hard or something on that order. It doesn't rain much so no problem there.
One other thing that is a factor is wind. I started my life in the trades as a painter. There is nothing worse besides rain for painting than wind. Interior, of course, not a problem. But in SoCal painting outside can be done 12 months a year with a few days as exceptions. It's not just painting, I just don't like wind. I live 8 miles from the ocean and I hate sailing.
It took me 30 years to convince my wife that cars should be driven with the windows up. Now she won't have it any other way.
